Notes from Sue Owen:

Daniel Owen Taylor: Fought in the Revolutionary War in Tennessee, at the Battle of Shallow Ford, and was also a slave owner. His will, dated 1834, bequeaths money and land to his sons and daughters. In addition, he bequeathed to his heirs nine enslaved “Black Boys” and “Black Girls”, listed by their first names. Eleven enslaved people were listed in his household on the 1830 census.
