“My great aunt Luella Steele was the daughter of John Steele & Emma Lemond/Lamond. She passed away in Forest/Forrest, Pottawatomie county, Oklahoma.
Siblings: William Frank Steele, Ida Mae (Steele) Wheeler Carnahan, George, Homer & Ray Wilson Steele.
She married 1st husband John Andrew Saxon and they had three children: George Carter Saxon, Ella Mae (Saxon) Owen and Harry C. Owen.
After Luella's first husband John passed away, she later married 2nd huband Audley J. "Ed" Martin, widow of Lillian H. (Owen) Martin. Children of Luella and Audley J. Martin: Emma Jane (Martin) Coffman, Ruby Rene (Martin) Zehm, Charles and Frank Martin. Luella's step children: Pearl and Myrtle Martin.
There is a discrepancy between 4 sources regarding the state where Luella was born in. The earliest record being the 1880 Texas Census reveals she was born in Missouri and the 1910 Oklahoma census agrees with this; the 1900 Oklahoma Census indicates she was born in the state of Texas; and her 1930 death certificate states she was born in Indiana.

Luella Steele: Married John Saxon, a coal miner who later died in a mine cave-in in 1906. They had 3 children. She then married Audley John Martin, a coal miner and carpenter, who was widowed with two children. They had four more children together.
